We invite you for an unforgettably hedonistic stroll.

This culinary tour takes you from the charming alleyways of Rome’s historic city center to the bustling Trastevere neighborhood, just as the Romans gather on the cobblestone streets and piazzas to meet for aperitivo.

Rome’s aperitivo is a delicious tradition of food and drinks before dinner. To give you the full flavor of Rome, we include several stops at our favorite little spots where local food, wine and beer offer incredible tastes that keep us coming back.  On this luxury tasting you’ll amble through our itinerary of great restaurants, wine bars, and local eateries to experience a menu that changes with the seasons.

You’ll taste the best versions of classic roman fritti, local craft beer, gourmet meats, tasty red wines and more than enough to take this tour instead of dinner.

We got married and flew to Rome the same day. One of our presents was this guided tour. We are both food fanatics (I am a chef) and enjoy wine as well. I do not know if we are hard to impress, but we definitely know a lot about food.
This tour did, without a doubt, change our 5-day trip for the better. We went to markets, wine shops, a cheese shop which served us a selection along with some wine, had some authentic Roman pizza slices, walked around Trastevere and experienced this area in way we would not have done were it not for this tour and much more in a good three hours time.
We even revisited a wine bar we went to during the tour, had a glass of sparkling italian wine (much better than Champagne if you ask me) away the burning sun and bought some wine to bring home and one of our higlights was a night at a seafood restaurant recommended by our excellent guide, Kristian, (called Memo – go there as well, experience of a lifetime).
Don´t eat breakfast the morning before the tour by the way – you will regret it all day long…

Guide, Christian Thomas, took us on a nearly 4 hour walk beginning with a visit to an organic farmers’ market on a recent Sunday morning. Our group consisted of 8 people, mainly American bicyclists spending a few post-tour days in Rome before flying home. Christian and his girl friend, an American graduate student conducting research in Rome, helped us sample a variety of meats, cheese, fruits, and vegetables in the market. They purchased many of our favorite items, and soon we were feasting on these at a nearby piazza while our guides talked about Roman history and culture, especially its culinary aspects. Then it was off to a wonderful coffee bar, followed by a couple of small establishments specializing in wines, cheeses, and artisanal pastas. A stop at a top-notch gelateria marked the end of our gastronomic adventure. Our journey was leisurely and filled with good humor. Everything we ate and drank was included in the price, and we consumed a great quantity of exceedingly tasty and nutritious comestibles. Take this tour as soon as you arrive in Rome. You will learn how to eat and drink well throughout your stay without spending a fortune.

I went to Rome with my wife and we only had one day, so I decided to mix fun, pleasure, food, wine, culture and history in 1 Tour.
Well…. I was not disappointed, Kristian is a nice, easy going guy, who really knows how to entertain his guests. Besides to enormous information he can give you about wine and food, he also shows some really nice places in Rome you would normally not would see if you are new to the city.
My advice, if you go to Rome for 1 day book him! And if you go there for more days, try to book him the first day(s), it will open your eyes and it will give you benefits for the rest of your trip!

Kristian made our vacation. Plus he saved us loads of money by recommending excellent restaurants that were much cheaper than the (likely tourist trap ones) the travel agent in the States recommended. Excellent stuff, thanks Kristian!

My husband and I decided to take a wine tour to the Roman vineyards while my mother in law visited, it turned out to be the highlight of the entire Italian vacation. We had Kristian as our guide, he not only knows more about wine then any one person should, but he is also knowledgeable about the local area (from history to local restaurants) and to top it off he’s funny.

The whole day was great, we arranged a pick up, and went on our way through the historic streets of Rome, my in laws asked a bunch of questions and Kristian had no problem, and I think, genuinely enjoyed answering them on the drive to the first vineyard. The first vineyard was a beautiful little place, we had wine, cheese, some bruschetta with some incredible olive oil, and a meat sampler. Kristian told us all about the grapes and why they grow them at certain hights, and why they grow roses at the ends of the rows. The second vineyard had a huge cellar with wine from before I was born! That was pretty incredible, more incredible was that we got more amazing cheese and meat at this vineyard too.

After the vineyard tours we had lunch right on the lake at this swanky restaurant. It was delicious! The prices were just right for everything too.

Overall this was the best tour we did in Italy, I highly recommend it, you’ll leave with knowledge about wine, or be more knowledgeable about wine if you already know about wine. Kristian taught me enough about wine that day that I am confident enough to help others pick a good wine, and he turned my mother-in-law and her boyfriend from Kentucky into wine lovers!!

In May, 2013 I was in Rome for a few days. It is one of the great cities of the world but also one of the most chaotic cities in the world—in a good way. But without some help, I would have wasted most of my time there trying to find the best of Rome. Christian was my guide and showed me why Rome is so great: the food, the architecture, the history. He really knew his stuff and I was very fortunate to have his help. I can’t wait to return.

Kristian was a fantastic guide and this was the best possible way to get us familar with historic Rome and its culinary offerings. Starting in the market with some fruit we went on a culinary tour of old Rome with excellent insights from our guide along the way. The laid back and friendly approach made you forget you weren’t just hanging out with friends in a foreign town. The food was amazing and the stories and local artisans we met made it extra special. We did this on our first full day in town and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get a feel for the old city and try some of the best food in town.

Kristian was a great guide showing us all the off-the-beaten-track places that are frequented by locals. His knowledge of Italian cuisine is great and we learned a great deal. I suggest doing this tour early on in your trip to Rome so you understand where to go for the remainder of your trip and avoid the expensive tourist traps which plague cities like Rome.

My family loves to cook and eat. So we can’t say enough about this wonderful tour with my family and Kristian. We went of his morning walk and hit highlight after highlight learning about all food and drink unique to Rome. Definately come hungry! Kristian has been in Rome many years, has great knowledge about the local food culture and Roman history as we walked through many old Rome neighborhoods. (Perfect English too). Don’t miss this tour and watch the video on their website for an inside glimpse of the fun!

We wanted to experience real Italian/ Roman food and enjoy some fine wine and beer and this tour didn’t disappoint.
Kristian was fantastic right from the start. His knowledge was second to none and was a perfect fit to appreciate and enjoy this tour.
I particularly enjoyed the discussions about wine which Kristian was an expert in.
Definitely do this at the start of your stay in Rome as you are introduced to some fantastic areas, away from the tourist areas where you can really take in Rome for what it should be.

We had an perfekt evening in Rome with wine and food tasting in small lokal bars and eating Places. Kristian was a great down to earth guide.

We selected Wine and Food of Rome based on our travel agent’s recommendation and are so glad we did. Kristian speaks excellent English, is very friendly, and, most importantly, is a serious foodie. We originally planned to take the afternoon tour but later switched our plans and took his tour on our first evening in Rome after arriving from the East Coast. Kristian is very accommodating and did not have any problem with this switch at all. He even checked in with us on the day of our arrival to make sure that even though I’d let him know our flight was delayed, we still wanted to take his tour that night (he offered to reschedule for another night if we wanted to do that). This is the perfect first-evening activity, as it keeps you walking and gives you an overview of some of the city in a lovely way. Most importantly, Kristian has relationships with small gourmet shops, wine bars, and restaurants that he is happy to share with those who tour with him. Every part of the tour involves something delicious to eat and drink, and by the end of the evening, we were more than full. This is an excellent way to really experience the food and wine culture of Rome. Thank you, Kristian!

First off, the guide can make or break a tour like this. We have done these in many cities and Kristian was by far the best guide we have had on any of our food tours.

What made Kristian stand out was the way he blended Roman history with the food and wine of Rome. He created a 4 hour walk that left us more knowledgable about the city, it’s history and most important it’s people, weaving a realtime story that shows and how food and wine makes the fabric of Rome come alive.

We experienced everything from Coffee to Cured meat to pasta to a charming shop (Beppe) that does homemade cheese and serves wine with a smile.

Thank you Kristian, we cannot say Grazie enough for a special day!

Eight of us enjoyed the evening beer wine and food tour with Evan .It was out last evening in Rome and it truly was one of the very best of our entire trip.We began with Italian Street and were constantly surprised and delighted with each and every stop along the way. We visited neighborhoods that we never would have found alone and enjoyed wonderful Italian flavors around every corner .I highly recommend this tour .

We did this tour a week and a half ago. My family of 4 (2 adult children) love food! It ended up as a private tour and our guide, Christian, was absolutely wonderful! He has an immense knowledge of Roman history, food and wine. We tried so many wonderful dishes, things we would have never known about and loved every bite and sip! It was a wonderful start to our vacation – we HIGHLY recommend!!! It is a lot of food – definitely start hungry!
