Description

We invite you for an unforgettably hedonistic stroll.

This culinary tour takes you from the charming alleyways of Rome’s historic city center to the bustling Trastevere neighborhood, just as the Romans gather on the cobblestone streets and piazzas to meet for aperitivo.

Rome’s aperitivo is a delicious tradition of food and drinks before dinner. To give you the full flavor of Rome, we include several stops at our favorite little spots where local food, wine and beer offer incredible tastes that keep us coming back.  On this luxury tasting you’ll amble through our itinerary of great restaurants, wine bars, and local eateries to experience a menu that changes with the seasons.

You’ll taste the best versions of classic roman fritti, local craft beer, gourmet meats, tasty red wines and more than enough to take this tour instead of dinner.

We came to Rome for a long weekend and had a great time with these guys. We love exploring local foods and wines, and did we ever eat the best during our trip thanks to Wine & Food of Rome, the Wine and Food Adventure was without a doubt a 10/10. We were introduced to amazing Italian wines that we’d never had before and the food was without a doubt the best we had on our trip, truly things we would not have been able to find and experienced on our own. Highly recommend!!

Recently had a wonderful tour led by Kristian, a 30-something classical guitarist from Sweden who moved to Rome to study music in 2001. He speaks fluent Enlish and Italian in addition to his native tongue, and he clearly has learned a great deal about Rome and Roman history. We walked around many of the major landmarks in the heart of the city, and he offered informative and entertaining anecdotes about each. He clearly was comfortable matching my pace, both in terms of walking but also in terms of assimilating information. Kristian is a friendly, easygoing, engaging guy who was willing to take as much or as little time as I wanted to spend at each location, but he did not hesitate to recommend options for our walking tour.

its a must tasting adventure of local food, wine and markets!!!
me and my girlfriend went to visit Rome, and we decided to book the tour. we ware not disappointed. Christian the guide was amazing and answered all of our questions with patience and pleasure. we walked with him for 4 hours and didn’t want it to end. i recommend doing the tour on the first day, since it gives you the insider look into the local food and restaurants. its much easier navigating in that field afterwards. the guide left us with a lot of tips for the rest of our stay, so we enjoyed the fruits of the tour until the very end 🙂

I used Wine and Food of Rome in November on a visit with my husband and some dear friends of ours. When we travel the focus is always on the food, so I asked Wine and Food to put together a special tour for us with a few stops in Rome and then a drive to visit some vineyards in the countryside. We’re still talking about the first breathtaking vineyard near the lake. This tour was excellent and the places where we stopped surpassed our expectations. Christian was very knowledgeable about food and wine and also just a lot of fun to spend the day with. I know that most of the wonderful foods we tasted are probably impossible to find at home, but I still regret not taking enough notes. There was a really fabulous soft cheese we tried at a cute cheese shop down near the river and I’ve been craving it ever since…you do have to travel to Italy to have real Italian food! All of us agree that this tour was one of the highlights of the trip.

My family and I had the pleasure of taking a tour with Evan in May of 2013. He effortlessly ushered us through his highlights of modern-day Rome, but also had an amazing ability to paint a picture of the sights, smells and sounds we may have encountered on a trip to Ancient Rome. With Evan, we immediately felt like we were in good hands, like we could just kick back and enjoy nothing but the best spots in town.

Because of Evan’s connections and personality, we got access to things that normal mortals might never see. A private, impromptu tour of Teatro Valle, built in 1726 and currently occupied by actors, directors and producers protesting its closure. Aperitivo at sunset on the terrace of the exquisite Hotel Raphael, at a primo table with sweeping views of the city. A wine/pasta/cheese tasting that blew doors on anything we’ve experienced close to home in Napa Valley.

We just felt ridiculously lucky with Evan. Our tour was 100% worth the investment of time and (reasonable) price, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. (This wasn’t our first trip to Rome, and fingers crossed that it won’t be our last!) Evan chared so much about Rome’s rich history, art, wine and food – and left us with a profound appreciation for this incredible city.

Kristian was an excellent ambassador to Rome. We learned not only about food but also bits of Roman history. His passion for the city’s food offerings was infectious. Be sure to go hungry, you will not be disappointed. We visited areas we wouldn’t have found on our own. Kristian has developed relationships with many vendors who seemed proud to share their delights with us. Next time we will do his wine tour.

We went for the morning food and market walk with our guide Kristian, and were not disappointed. Coffee, delicious fresh vegetables from the market, wine and meat in the back room of the prociutteria, lovely Roman breakfast pizza, pasta and wine in a cosy restaurant, cookies from Rome’s best bakery and delicious gelato to top it up ensured nobody went home hungry! Kristian knows the city, the narrow back streets, the food and the wines and is a really pleasant guy to be around. Our group was quite small, only six people and although we were strangers when we met we were friends when we parted. That is what great food does to people! Don’t miss this tour!

Anna our guide took us on an amazing tour of Roman flavors. It was a real highlight of our holiday in Italy, and our last day, so memorable. Great value, great people and excellent food. I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was recommended to me by a friend who’s daughter had done it during a trip to Rome. Since it was my first time to Rome and I was traveling with a friend who had never been either I thought the tour would be great to do to familiarize us with the city. We did the Evening Street Cuisine Beer & Wine Walk and had an awesome time, besides my friend and I there was just one other couple on the tour so the small size was great to be able to chat. Evan was awesome, super fun and knowledgeable and the places he took us to were all great, excellent food and drinks. We enjoyed the Trastevere neighborhood so much my friend and I ended up staying after the tour to enjoy the area as well as returning there Saturday night to hang out so I was really happy we’d done the tour or I might not have realized how fun that area was otherwise. Would highly recommend! We did a similar tour in Venice and while that was good, I’d have to say this one was much better, thanks Evan!
